Lentil & Brown Rice Soup Ingredients

1/2 cup lentils
1/3 cup brown rice
2 tbsp olive oil
2 each garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 each bay leaves
1 small onion, chopped
2 medium carrots, sliced
1 large celery stalk, chopped
14 oz can tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup tomato juice
1/4 cup sherry
1 tsp basil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp marjoram
1/2 tsp thyme
1 salt & pepper

To get rid of the smell of garlic from your hands rub a tablespoon of salt mixed with a little water and rub for a few seconds then rinse under cold water.

Keep the hot foods hot and the cold foods cold. Use chafing dishes or other heated servers which keep already hot foods at a temperature of at least 140F. Do not leave high-risk foods out for longer than 2 hours. Make sure to stir the food frequently if the heating source does not cover the entire bottom of the dish. Cold foods should be set on ice. Lentil & Brown Rice Soup Directions

Place first 6 ingredients in large soup pot. Cover with 3 cups water
& bring to a boil. Cover & simmer for 7 to 8 minutes. Add 2 more
cups of water along with the rest of the ingredients. Cover & simmer
for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot.
