"Americans, more than any other culture on earth, are cookbook cooks; we learn to make our meals not from any oral tradition, but from a text. The just-wed cook brings to the new household no carefully copied collection of the family's cherished recipes, but a spanking new edition of ‘Fannie Farmer’ or ‘The Joy of Cooking’." |

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
1. Prepare potatoes according to package; keep warm.
2. Meanwhile stack beef steaks; cut lengthwise in half and then crosswise
into 1-inch wide strips. Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray;
heat over medium-high heat until hot. Add beef (1/2 at a time) and
stir-fry 1 minute or until outside surface is no longer pink. (Do not
overcook.) Remove from skillet; season with salt, if desired.
3. In same skillet, add onion and bell pepper; stir-fry over medium heat 5
minutes or until crisp-tender. Return beef to skillet. Add barbecue
sauce; heat through. Spoon mixture over potatoes; serve immediately.
Makes 4 servings.
