If raisins are dried out or sugary, put them in a heat-proof container and cover them with boiling water. Let them stand for approximately 5 minutes, drain and pat dry. This process will plump up the raisins.

in the roast and insert pieces of garlic and onions, brown roast over
med-high heat. Add all ingredients and enough water to cover, cook
3-4 hours until tender, covered over low heat. Reduce sauce to two
cups.
