Brown roast in oil. Drain off any excess oil. Add water boulion
cubes, salt, pepper and bayleaves. Add carrot chuncks and sliced
onions. Bring to boil while covered, turn downto a low simmer for 2
to 3 hours or untill tender. Thicken juices to make gravy.
