Food Tip
Although conventinal advice has been to use plastic cutting boards instead of wooden ones, there is an opinion that wooden surfaces may actually be better at preventing bacterial growth than plastic surfaces, which seem to harbor them. Whether you choose wood or plastic, use separate boards for raw and cooked foods, and make sure to clean and sterilize after each use. To sanitize cutting boards, wash with warm, soapy water, and then wash again with a solution of 2 to 3 teaspoons of household bleach in one quart of warm water. Rinse with plain hot water

Herb Tip
Using Parsley:
Only the leaves of the parsley plant are used to add a mild, fresh taste to most dishes. Both flat-leaf parsley (also called Italian Parsley) and curly-leaf varieties are available and are virtually interchangeable in dishes that call for parsley.

Food Tip
Leftovers should never be at room temperature for more than 2 hours. They should be refrigerated quickly. Refrigerators are designed to accommodate changes in temperatures. Alhough plastic wrap may prevent contact with other food and bacteria, it will not prevent growth of bacteria already in or on the food if left out at room temperature.

Crisp Pizza Dough (Tdn) Directions

Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water; set aside. In large mixing
bowl, combine 2-3/4 cups flour and the salt; stir yeast mixture and
oil into the flour until a dough forms. On a lightly floured work
surface, knead the dough about 10 minutes, working in remaining flour
until dough is sticky. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic
wrap and let rise until double in size, about 40 minutes.

Makes one 16 inch crust.
