Sift together whole wheat flour, wheat germ, baking soda, cinnamon,
salt and nutmeg. Set aside. In large bowl combine peeled and diced
apples, sugars, oil, walnuts, eggs and vanilla. Add flour to mixture.
Stir gently. Blend well. Turn into 2" deep pan. Bake in pre- heated
oven (350 deg) for 50 minutes or till cake pulls from side of pan.
Cool in pan or rack. If desired, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
Cut in 12 bars.
