Place graham wafers in bottom of 9 x 9 inch pan, set aside. Cook
dates with the brown sugar till soft, remove from heat and add
vanilla. Cool. Spread on the layer of wafers in pan, then cover with
more wafers. Can be iced with chocolate icing.
