Food Tip
When a recipe calls for oil, use a smaller amount of a more flavorful oil, such as olive, sesame or chili oil. Use a combination of flavored oils, herbs or beef stock to season beef, vegetables, sauces, stir-fried and sauteed dishes

If raisins are dried out or sugary, put them in a heat-proof container and cover them with boiling water. Let them stand for approximately 5 minutes, drain and pat dry. This process will plump up the raisins.

Marinated Oranges Directions

With a sharp knife, cut off the ends of the oranges. Set each orange
on a cutting board and slice off the peel, making sure to remove all
the white spongy pith. Slice the oranges into thin rounds and remove
all the seeds.

Put the slices into a deep serving platter. Add the lemon and orange
juices and sprinkle with the sugar and walnuts. Cover the platter
with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about one hour. Serve with some
of the juices poured over. Typos by Brenda Adams
