Desperate Act Dinner
“Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon.” |

This recipe is certainly silly. It says to separate two eggs, but it doesn't say how far to separate them. |
| Gracie Allen |
I refuse to believe that trading recipes is silly. Tuna fish casserole is at least as real as corporate stock. |

Cutting stalks at noontime. Perspiration drips to the earth. Know you that your bowl of rice each grain from hardship comes? |

“Another article of cuisine that offends the bowels of unused Britons is garlic. Not uncommonly in southern climes an egg with a shell on is the only procurable animal food without garlic in it. Flatulence and looseness are the frequent results.” |

After eating chocolate you feel godlike, as though you can conquer enemies, lead armies, entice lovers. |

“This root [the potato], no matter how much you prepare it, is tasteless and floury. It cannot pass for an agreeable food, but it supplies a food sufficiently abundant and sufficiently healthy for men who ask only to sustain themselves. The potato is criticised with reason for being windy, but what matters windiness for the vigorous organisims of peasants and labourers?” |

Work is the curse of the drinking class. |

Always take a good look at what you're about to eat. It's not so important to know what it is, but it's critical to know what it was. |

bring "egg noodles" to a boil. cook broccoli until tender but not
mushy (i hate over-cooked broccoli). at the same time, heat up
spaghetti sauce. when the noodles and broccoli are cooked to your
preference, drain them and toss them together. add sauce to taste.
voila!
the great thing about these noodles is that they're cholesterol free,
and low fat, to boot! i'm sorry i don't have any exact measurements.
i'm sure you can use your best judgement to gauge how much to
prepare. i don't know how much fat is in this concoction; all i know
is that the noodles are pretty low in fat grams, and that there are
some pretty good vlf spaghetti sauces out there (provided you add
enough basil and garlic!). happy spring, people!
